Ada & Everest

I thought it would be appropriate to post a little photo today for my 4th Blogiversary - this is a cutie pie photo of little Ada when she was first born (3 yrs old) and her new little brother Everest. Ada has been wearing my clothes since day one (she was my second onesie ever made) and now so has her brother (wish I had of counted what number his is woops!). I am honored to have been a part of their first days. Thanks Brittany & Jimmy for letting me - it really means the world to me. These photos were taken by Moncrief Photography (Brittany & Jimmy's rockin' photography business)

Guest Post on MiniMak Makings BLog

I was recently featured on MiniMak Makings Blog - and I am excited to share with you my inspirations. The original post is here.

My name is Tobi and I am the proud owner/designer of Ivey Handcrafted.

Here are a few of my favorite things.

3 Things I am currently obsessed with:

*Wedding blogs – my hubby and I are celebrating 10 years of marriage this year and planning a Halloween/renewal party. We eloped {which was awesome, btw} but I always knew I wanted to renew our vows one day. Even though we were married in July – Halloween is our favorite. This year is our 9th annual Halloween party and we thought what better time to celebrate with friends and renew our vows. So I am OBSESSED with wedding blogs, I can’t stop myself. Photography, DIY, flowers, etc. anything wedding related. My 3 favorite blogs for weddings are:

100 Layer Cake

Ruffled

Green Wedding Shoes

*weight watchers – I have struggled with my weight for some time. I have tried many different things – but recently fell back in love with Weight Watchers. And so far so good – I have a long way to go – but feeling better about myself every day. Weight Watchers is awesome because it is like a game to me – figuring out my points every day – finding awesome low point snacks. Seriously….it is the most fun I have had with weight loss ever J

*my studio makeover – SLOWLY BUT SURELY it will come together. It is taking forever because I want it to be perfect, down to every detail. Because in the end I want it to be the place I go for constant inspiration. So definitely stay tuned to my blog for final pics.

3 of my favorite things:

*my jewelry collection -there is one thing I have always loved: jewelry. This started with my mother who has the best jewelry collection of any woman I know. I have been collecting jewelry for as long as I can remember. I can never have too many earrings or rings – those are my favorite. And I love statement pieces – vintage, new, handmade – I love it all. I am a true believe that a girl can never have too much jewelry.

*my fur babies – they are my heart. We are so lucky to have the 4 fur babies we have – 2 dogs {Nellie & Olive – the miniature schnauzers} and 2 cats {Itzy & Roscoe}. We don’t have children, been trying to adopt for 6 years after many heartbreaks – so we appreciate these kids even more.

*my city – I live in the most beautiful city {Chattanooga, Tennessee}. I went to college here {too many years ago} and have seen it grow into such an amazing place. I have met some of the most amazing people here. We are surrounded by mountains, good food and plenty of activities to keep you busy. I know there is a chance we will be going away for my hubby’s graduate school – but I know in my heart we will be back here. This city is home to us.

3 things that inspire me:

*my parents – they are my biggest fans. I grew up in a house of artists. Both my parents are artists and have been my whole life. They have always supported me in anything I tried and always have been there for advice and inspiration. I couldn’t have started this business without their help and support.

*fellow crafty friends – I am SURROUNDED by crafty people – in all areas – food, flowers, craft. I am very lucky to have so many friends in the art world who constantly inspire me. I always get best motivation to create after craft nights with my friends J

*magazines/blogs – I have an addiction to magazines – I have too many subscriptions to mention {a little embarrassing} and my blog list just keeps getting longer and longer everyday.

My 3 current favorite magazines are:

Cloth, Paper, Scissors

Fresh Home

Country Living

Thanks for reading along – hope you enjoyed my 3 favorite’s lists. I enjoyed making them, and appreciate MiniMak Makings for letting me be a part of her blog.

Project 52 {weeksix}

This photo is a great reminder to myself how a great meal out with best friends can really make your day better. My friday was overall just crummy.....nothing went right, my little nellie bean had her teeth cleaned and a lot of teeth pulled (which only reminded me that my fur baby is getting older) and overall it was just a yucky friday. But a night out with friends at our town's newest restaurant - is just what I needed.
